Any plan upgrade promo

A few weeks ago I went into my account through the verizon website.

My wife and I have samsung s21's

The account showed we were eligible for an "any plan" upgrade with $859 trade in value each.

I put two new S24' in the shopping cart and proceeded to check out.

After closing the transaction I realized my line didn't get the $859 credit but only $65. My wife's line was processed correctly.

Spent three hours on the phone with customer service over the next several days trying to explain the situation.

Verizon insisted I needed to upgrade my plan from the do more plan to unlimited ultimate and get refused to comment on how my wife got her s24 for free.

A week later the website interface changed and removed the any plan upgrade button.

Verizon lied to me about what I saw before my own eyes and had no explanation for my wife reviving the promo.

Shady business.

Any free phone deal I've seen on the website has had a requirement that you be on Unlimited Ultimate. If your wife wasn't on Unlimited Ultimate before the upgrade went through, then I'd check your account to see if her plan wasn't changed. There might have been some button that got pressed somewhere which approved the change and then it didn't get pressed again when you were doing the transaction for your line. I've also read of situations where a credit gets charged back to someone's account later.
