I live in the Arts District in Los Angeles and use an iPhone 12 Pro Max. I have one bar of service in my home and two bars of service in the office where I work in Santa Monica. On important calls with colleagues, I am constantly told "you are cutting out, I can't hear you." It's like I am living in one of those bad TV commercials mocking a phone service for dropped calls. This problem has become worse in the past week. In the past when I lived in Beachwood Canyon I had no service, so Verizon sent me a network extender which worked for the most part. I still have that Verizon network extender in my home. It is always connected to 7-9 satellites, but the phone does not seem to link to it anymore. I used to be able to put the phone next to the extender and reboot the phone and it would have full signal. That process no longer works.
Has anyone else had recent weak or failed verizon signal in Los Angeles?
I called Verizon from my home last night and was disconnected about 3 times because of a failed signal. The rest of the time I was told by Ruby the tech support person "you are cutting out. I can't hear you." I find that ironic.
What are people's experiences in the past week or two? Will a different network offer consistent service in Los Angeles? There is noting wrong with my iPhone since when I call people with FaceTime audio or on WhatsApp using the internet, they can hear me perfectly. In the iPhone cellular settings, I have 5G "auto" selected and roaming is "on."
And no, I did not drop my phone or change any settings recently. This is a Verizon problem, and when you call them for help and they can't hear you--it is laughable.
