Hello- Yesterday, I set up the new boxes for our tvs and paired the voice remotes. Our main, Sony, TV was hooked up to a Bose 321 sound system - Legacy Jurrasic, yes, but worked great.
I cannot figure out how to connect the Bose system to the new box, which do not have any ports like the old arris box.The sound is only coming from the TV. The Bose is not broken
We followed the steps where we selected the audio device and tried manually resetting the remote (I noticed from some other research that we didn't enter model # though and am not sure that prompt came up??). Ultimately, the Bose was "not recognized." (it maybe appropos of nothing but while the tech support person was helping me try to improve my signal upstairs, he had me press the button on the extender 1st, each time we attempted to try something. Did not try this when manually resetting the remotes with the Sony/Bose...)
We also did try to hook the Bose 321 to the TV via an hdmi cable from the TV.
I saw on yet another post that ppl had to get to a menu (BOSE?) to select hdmi optical or something and had to set up some kind of video feed to see the menu???
I googled enabling HDMI CEC settings on the SONY this am after reading more in the community, but have not tried that yet.
We tried calling support back last nite, but after trying the manual resets again, the call ended and I'm pretty sure the support person said she couldn't help us. I thought I'd try here to see if any body had any advice or technical chops or tricks up their sleeves they might be able to share.
Thank you,
Mare (PS: for reference ,i was trying to follow the post here that was entitled Fios remote no longer controls volume on the receiver.)
