I just ended a 2 hour chat on Verizon. I have been a customer of Verizon for 20+ years and have had DSL internet and my landline through them. I do not have FIOS or 5G as neither are in my area. I was on my Verizon account and ran a speed test - it resulted in 3MBPS download and 1 MBPS for upload. This is unacceptable and insane. I had called several years back and did not get a resolution then. Today I decided to try Chat. What a mistake. I was passed to 4 different techs, all who had me do the same exact trouble shooting instructions, all with the same result - no improvement. I had asked if they could send me courtesy of an updated Verizon router as that is what they had done many years ago. At that time they said I was eligible for an update router. As I was near the end of my rope and decided to request one. It was ignored and I would be passed to the next tech. After 2 hours I could not go on with the nonsense. I explained that I would at some point call and ask to escalate the issue. I am paying $100 a month ($20 in fees) for subpar service. As a senior citizen who has to watch my spending especially now I am at a lost of what else to do. So much for gratitude for customer loyalty.
