text messages lost when phone is off

I have been experiencing lost text messages ever since the shutdown of the Message+ network. The issue seems to show up only when my phone is turned off and I try to receive a text, the text won't show up at all. I have been testing it using my google voice number and texting myself when I turn my phone off. Is there any solutions or ways to figure out what might be going on?

That custom ROm very well might be the problem. In stock Android there is nowhere to enter APN settings for Verizon, it is all automatic based on your SIM when you activate your phone with a Verizon SIM. So I doubt anyone will know what the custom APN settings are, we can't see them on our phones. And now that you posted you are using a custom ROM you probably won't get any help from Verizon customer support, they don't support unlocked bootloaders or custom ROM's on phones on heir network. What app are you using for texting now, Google Messages? Or a different texting app? It sounds like something within the app you are using is not setup correctly, or your phone is not properly provisioned onto the Verizon network after they shut down Messages+.

I am using Google Messages. I have also tried a handful of other texting apps, and they all do the same thing. how do you check if your phone is properly provisioned onto the verizion network?

You would have to call Verizon customer service and explain the situation and ask them to check everything on their end, all the network stuff related to your phone, your SIM, etc. It kind of sounds like something is not right on that end.

I called into Verizion customer support and they said that I needed to set my APN settings. I was using a custom rom (lineageos) so that might affect things. did anyone have the most up to date APN settings? I have tried various sources online but none of them seem to work or seemed outdated.
