Request for Assistance with Unlocking iPhone

Dear Support Team,

I hope this email reaches the appropriate support department.

I received an iPhone as a gift from a relative in the USA. Unfortunately, the device is locked. When my relative purchased it, he was unaware of the unlocking process and assumed it could be easily resolved in my country.

However, I have tried inserting both my SIM card and eSIM, but I have not been able to unlock the phone.

Would it be possible for you to unlock the device for me? I am willing to pay any necessary fees, but it would mean a lot to me to be able to use this iPhone in my country with my SIM/eSIM card.

I can send IMEI, IMEI 2 and serial number in case you can help me.

Since I do not have the opportunity to spend 60 days in the USA, I hope there is an alternative way to unlock the device.

Please consider my request and let me know what steps I can take.

After reviewing the device, it appears it is locked by Apple, so we would not be able to assist. We recommend contacting Apple for additional support.

I know that phones are automatically unlocked after 60 days; however what if I am travelling overseas on the 55th day and I need my phone to be unlocked so I can use a local SIM card in Vietnam?
I uses TravelPass on days you use international talk, text or data.

In addition, what starts the 60 day clock? Is it the day of purchase or the day of activation?

It's the day of activation. Unless you are active military and can provide the proof that you've been deployed overseas, there is no other way to unlock a Verizon device sooner from what I've found on the website.

Sorry to hear about this. There is no way to get this phone unlocked. If your family member purchased the phone less than 30 days ago, they can return it, so if you're still within the time frame, I'd use an overnight shipping service to send the phone back to your relative so they can get a refund.
