Here is the question from a Fios member that caught my attention because I have experience what I believe to be the same thing: @monroklo wrote:
The guide at the bottom of my Fios TV app does not display the GUIDE to choose channels anymore. It looks like its been replaced by Live TV, however, when I try to access it, I get an error message. This is happening on my Ipad Pro, but not my Iphone. How do I fix this?
On my Android phone I utilize the Fios TV app to set up recordings when I am away from home. About 1 week ago when I turned on my cellphone and used the Verizon network for my connection, I no longer saw the guide/program information. Since then, sometimes I would see the channels listed on the left side, but I could only watch live tv if suscribed to those channels. The only way I have ben able to access the guide properly is when I connected to my home WiFi, but to do that I must be home and if I am home I woul be using my TV and not a 3-4" screen on a phone. The problem appeared to be resolved after following the steps of rebooting the routing and all of my set top boxes., but on my 2nd attempt at remote access, the lack of guide information reappeared. This morning the problem seem to be fixed by magic because I hadn't tried any new troubleshooting steps . Waiting for the bus I was able to access my guide via the Verizon network (not wifi). However, when I got to work, no guide with just network access. I can access the guide using the Verizon website, but who carries around a desktop computer with them. The steps 1 person here gave and the steps mentioned by the "app feedback" techs would only work if this was a permanent problem. This is according to several current and former Fios employees. What I mean is if clearing the cache or uninstalling and reinstalling would work (which it doesn't in this case) then I would NOT be able to occasionally see the guide sometimes and not see it others. I would simply not be able to see it until the problem was resolved. The problem according to these trained individuals is a network problem that is blocking the user from accessing the guide, but Verizon app people won't address that point.
