Why does the bluetooth audio cut off the TV audio? I need both the TV audio for the room and the bluetooth headphones for grandpa's bad hearing. The STB cuts off the TV audio when I connect the bluetooth headphones.
Is it the STB that is cutting off the audio or the TV itself? I believe the TV is the culprit here, not the Fios box. You may have to get an optical to BT adapter for your TV to do what you want, or find a setting on your TV that doesn't shut off the speakers when using the BT headphones. Something like this should do it:

Hi Clem21,
Thanks for the input! Unfortunately, my ancient VisioTV doesn't have any bluetooth bells or whistles. However, it does have an optical audio output on the back. I don't know why the VMS4100ATM box does not support dual audio output via bluetooth and HDMI. I can't find any specifications for it anywhere, including on Verizon itself. Apparently the units are so new they haven't written the documentation for them yet. Mine was installed just yesterday. I am going to order an optical adapter like you suggest.
Thanks again for your help!
I would suggest something like this one since it has low-latency output and some of the other cheaper ones don't, causing bad lipsync problems:

The first one I posted uses batteries for a power source. You can use a USB power for the second one.
The new boxes only accept blutooth commands from the remote, they do not have a transmitter built in.
