LG Cosmos Touch

I just activated an LG Cosmos Touch and I am having problems using mobile email. I activated my hotmail account. After reading my emails and exiting the application, every time I try to get back into the mobile email application, the phone restarts.

My family plan account has three of these new LG Cosmos Touch phones and they are all doing the same thing. I talked to technical support via the 800 number and they are submitting a ticket for the problem.

I am just wondering if anyone has encountered this problem and if there is a known fix.

After careful review of our technical bulletins, I did not find evidence if a widespread issue with the phone power cycling with the use of Mobile E-mail. This is definitely an issue with the phones themselves and not the network.

Please remember our 14-day guarantee. If you are not satisfied with any device for any reason you can return it and choose a new device. Be aware, this may result in a $35.00 Re-stocking Fee since the phone cannot be sold again as "new."

Technical support has gotten back to me and said there is definitly a known problem with the latest version of mobile email for the LG phones. The technical support person I talked to suggested that I bring the phone to a VZW store to have them upgrade the firmware in the phone which may or may not solve the problem until they develop an update to fix the problem.

As far as returning the phone, I purchased it at Target which allows customers to return phones within 14 days WITHOUT a restocking charge. Oh, another note, the phone is $50.00 LESS EXPENSIVE at Target.

If the firmware upgrade does not fix the problem, I am thinking about keeping the phone because I really like it and discontinue my data plan and forget about checking my email on my phone and save a few dollars a month along the way.

If anyone has a solution to the mobile email problem, I would like to hear about it.

Both myself and my girlfriend purchased LG Cosmos Touch phones from the local Verizon store last April. Originally we had the frustration of the Daily Scoop popping up every time we used them. On 13 June 2011 Verizon pushed a software update to our phones. Immediately after that update our phones began experiencing the occasional restart: when we slide open the QWERTY keyboard; when receive a TXT and touch the View Message button; when we unlock the display; when we edit and save a Calendar entry; or when we Send a TXT. It's random and as I said the "restart problem" began immediately after the last software update. I know this because I happened to open the display at 10 PM on June 13th, and the system asked me if I wanted to accept the update. I have a reconditioned phone coming to see if that solves the problem. Doubtful, since the latest software update will be installed upon activation. But let's keep a positive thought.
