Modem Delivery

Does Verizon allow us to redirect packages to a ups/fedex facility for pick up? Which is what I usually do when ordering from anyplace. I can not get deliveries at my address and I do not want to waste my time ordering if it will end up being sent back. The nearest verizon store for pick up on home internet is like 50 mile round trip drive for me.

I certainly appreciate looking for alternatives to getting a device shipped to you, kclady52. All of our shipped orders must be shipped directly to your home address. Alternatively, we can also ship to a work address, or a friend or family member's address. We cannot request that a package is held at a UPS or FedEx facility, though they may offer that option on a door tag after a failed delivery attempt. I hope this helps to answer your question.

I have the same issue. I live alone, so when I'm at work there is no one to sign for a package. When my 5g modem was delivered, a neighbor happened to see the UPS man on his second attempt, and was nice enough to sign for me. I now have a WIFI extender coming, first attempted delivery was today. Driver left a note on my door saying he will try again tomorrow (when I again won't be home), but giving no options to presign or hold for pickup at a facility. I don't understand why Verizon takes this position, to not allow me to take responsibility for my own deliveries. I suppose after a couple days it will get returned, and I hope I get my one free extender credit back.

I tried to add a work delivery address before making the order, but I had to verify my account in order to do so, and the only way they would send me a confirmation code was a text message to the phone number assigned to my internet gateway, which I obviously can't receive text messages on.

We certainly understand your concerns, and would love to help as best we can. With all equipment orders, we do require a signature for security purposes to protect both our customers and as well as us. Have you attempted to go to the facility to pick it up after work? I know I have done that several times with orders I have received from us. I've never had to call in to have them hold it, I was just able to go in a request it. Please let us know if there is more we can do.

Picking it up at a facility is not an option. They just made their third attempt at delivery and are returning to sender. Apparently Verizon shipping does not allow UPS to hold it for pickup, or to pre-sign for delivery.
