I've gone through every Setting menu I could find and have turned off all notification sounds available. Yet no matter what I do, every time I get a new text or email message my phone buzzes. Very annoying!
Found it - it's a setting within Yahoo Mail, and I assume there must be something similar for GMail. Yahoo Mail => Menu/Settings => Options => General settings =? Notification sounds. No more vibrating. Hallelujah!
have you tried...
Menu>settings>sound>Vibrate>Never
Woof.
Or, open your messaging app, press menu>settings>notification settings. I know, some of these menus are kind of hidden.
Yes, that's one of the first settings I went to and it's set to "never" just like you suggest. I've also tried Messaging Settings => Email (and Text) => Notifications => Vibrate (set to unchecked). No luck either.
Mmmm, I don't have an answer then. can you go back and see your VZ Rep?
I think I've isolated it, seems to only happen for new messages that I am getting from Yahoo Mail. But I can't seem to find any settings within this app or any of the messaging settings that specifically apply to Yahoo. Any ideas? Wondering if people who use GMail have the same issue? I'm planning to stop in to a Verizon store over the weekend if I can't figure it out.
Thanks!
Any idea how to turn it off for just txts? I have a new Droid Razr M and I cannot for the life of me figure out how to turn off the vibrate on incoming messages after i did phone update today. I am ready to cry!
Don't cry!
