Text messages received by a different phone number

Hello, my husband and I both have iPhones.

I had both his personal and his work phone numbers together under the same contact. Recently, I had to separate them into two separate contacts because when I would text his personal cell phone number, it would go to his work phone number. This is still an issue even though the contacts are separated. How can I fix this?

Hello juicey1. Getting your texts to the right number is important. Since the contact does not appear to be working properly, a suggestion is to delete both contacts you have saved for him. Then recreate the contacts individually.

Different texting applications will behave differently. What texting app are you using on your phone?
