Signal strength & reception

We switched from AT&T several years ago, for the Verizon coverage. We live in Fishers Indiana. When we first switched we were getting four bars at our home and all over the area. Now at our home we’re lucky to have one bar. Most of the time it goes through Wi-Fi. I’m sitting in the doctors office right now and I only have two bars. It’s still in metropolitan Fishers area. This has been getting worse over the last year and a half. What the heck is wrong?

I have a iPhone 15 Pro and my wife has an iPhone 15 max.

I’m seriously considering going back to AT&T at this point. There’s absolutely no reason to have this horrible of service.

The link below shows how to manually update the carrier settings. But if your phone is not saying anything about an update being available, then your settings are up to date. Has someone at Verizon tried reprovisioning your account or giving you a new eSIM? Another possibility for weak signal is if you're close to that lake or river (when I checked the coverage map, quite a few spots of water show up for the area in question). Bodies of water can interfere with cellular reception.

To manually change the network band on an iPhone, go to Settings > Cellular > Cellular Data Options > Voice & Data, and choose your desired network mode (5G Auto, 5G On, or LTE/4G). If 5G is weak for whatever reason, try using LTE only. 5G On is 5G only and will not go to LTE, which I think will be problematic because Verizon still uses LTE for voice calls. 5G Auto is automatic best band selection.

Have you checked that your carrier settings are up to date? Depending on whether or not you have 5G in your area, you may also need to adjust your band settings.

Thank you for your idea. I have no updates pending and when I go to settings/general/about/and scroll down to eSIM carrier, it just shows Verizon 64.0. I see no where where I can select an update.
