Verizon employee told me on chat that they will “give me internet at $35 a month until I decide to cancel” I agreed to it and even questioned if I would still get that price three years later. Employee said “yes, until you decide to cancel it”

I said ok and they said “you got it”

now one of the executives to the CEO said they are only giving me that offer for a couple of more months( which would be one year total)

this sounds like they are breaching their end of the deal if I’m not mistaken.
what does the community think because Verizon does not care one bit.

Based upon how other ISPs regularly offer internet plans to new customers at discounted rates but then raise the price to the "normal" rate after a year, I'd say this is an industry practice. While it would be nice to get the same price forever for something, the cost of anything goes up over time.

Someone else posted in another thread that their state offers a program for affordable internet. You may want to look into whether there is something similar where you live.
