iPhone 16 pro not receiving incoming calls

Help! My iPhone 16 pro only receives incoming calls sporadically. I have spent HOURS on the phone with technical support. I have gone through all the troubleshooting multiple times. I went to a Verizon corporate store and that was pointless because all they did was call technical support. They won't give me a new phone because I am outside of my 30 day Verizon warranty (even though I started calling tech support in the 30 day window). I just want my iPhone 13 back! I never had any issues with it. I have chatted with Apple support and they tried to walk me through all the same troubleshooting that Verizon did. All reps make me feel like I am the only one having this issue. Clearly that is not the case! I am beyond frustrated and ready to switch to a new carrier. I CAN NOT keep missing calls from my elderly parents, kids and husband. This is no ok!

I've seen a few threads about this recently...makes me wonder if either a Verizon software update did something, or perhaps your carrier settings need to be updated? If your iPhone is configured to ONLY use 5G, that could be the cause of the issue because as far as I know, Verizon still does phone calls via the 4G LTE part of the network.

Another thing which is problematic is if you're using WiFi Calling and your router is running on IPv6. Without doing some technical tweaking on your router, all data packets will be dropped on IPv6. Seems like most people get around that problem by disabling IPv6 so then the router uses only the older IPv4 which is how Verizon typically does WiFi Calling.

Addendum to my earlier post (I can't edit it any longer): Check your settings and make sure VoLTE is toggled on, because if it's off, plain old phone calls won't work on cellular service.

Thanks for making us aware. We appreciate your business and don't want you to miss any important calls. You can try turning on Cellular data after going to Settings > Cellular. Turn it back on and then restart the phone as a fix for the missed calls. -Ross

You told me someone would text me regarding this issue within 24 hours and I have not heard from anyone! The issue of incoming calls is not resolved. It is STILL happening!

Where do I even find VoLTE in settings??

VoLTE on iPhone 14, 15, and 16: go to Settings > Cellular (or Mobile) Data > Cellular Data Options > Voice and Data > toggle on the VoLTE switch.

In order to check your network mode and manually switch it: Settings > Cellular > Cellular Data Options > Voice & Data, and choose your desired network mode (5G Auto, 5G On, or LTE/4G). I don't have an iPhone, but have heard there is a 4th network mode setting on Verizon phones at least which I'm not sure what that one does. 5G Auto will automatically select the best signal available to use. 5G On is 5G only and will not go to 4G LTE ever. LTE is 4G LTE only and won't go to 5G.
