Verizon converted my neighborhood to Fios. I have a Fios landline. The phone rings 3 times before referring to VoiceMail, and older members of the family cannot safely reach the phone within that timespan. I want to adjust the setting to four rings, but (sigh) I have spent 90 minutes over the course of two days trying to obtain accurate information from Verizon about how to do so. 1) The call center help (online chat) provided incorrect information twice--and different information each time. This step took 50 minutes. 2) The website itself is totally opaque as a source of information for users. Just wants to sell stuff. The information I located was yet again incorrect. 3) The pop-up AI advice was--you got it--completely inaccurate. I followed instructions and dialed into my VoiceMail system, having been told to press "6" to change the number of rings, only to receive "invalid entry." Is there a way to adjust the number of rings or should I quit Verizon and sign up with comcast?
