Is there a way to turn off the 5G on an iPhone? It's almost unusable even with full bars and 3 bars, but 4G LTE works great 100ft away
Knowing all of your options is crucial. There are options like this on some iPhones. Here is more information on how to do this below.

Hi, if you have full bars of signal on your iPhone and 5G isn't working, that sounds like your account needs to be reprovisioned by tech support so the phone knows to use all the available spectrum. This can happen if your neighborhood didn't use to have 5G but it's now been brought in with network upgrades. I would also check that your carrier settings are up to date. That's a bummer that 5G runs slowly otherwise, since we're all paying for some kind of 5G in all current service plans.
In the meantime, you can manually switch bands by going to Settings > Cellular > Cellular Data Options > Voice & Data, and choose your desired network mode (5G Auto, 5G On, or LTE/4G)
