I have been a customer for 24 years, and I have successfully avoided such issues until now. I recently engaged in a two-hour online session with their representatives to upgrade my S9 to the S25, enticed by the advertisement that it would not incur any costs, as part of the June 2025 promotion deal. My intention was to transition from an older plan to a newer one at the same price. I was assured that the phone would not cost me anything. I explicitly inquired if this was a two-year contract, and I was assured that it was not. I was led to believe that there would be no additional charges for the phone, to which I received a negative response. I asked if my payment plan would increase, and I was once again assured that it would not, a response I received multiple times. The representative subsequently transferred me to a second person, similar to the process of purchasing a car, presumably the closer. On multiple occasions, I was reassured that I would not be charged for the phone, my payment plan would not increase, and there was no contract. However, I have since discovered that this is not the case, as I am now being charged for a phone, and it appears that I have been deceived. This situation is highly regrettable, particularly because it occurred online through chat, leaving me without a personal record of the conversation. I noticed too late into the conversation that there was no option to save or print the chat, and the representative was unable to send it to me. I intend to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and encourage others to do the same. I am strongly considering relinquishing the phone, settling the contract, and discontinuing my service with Verizon after 24 years. It is concerning that such activities can occur and go unchecked, affecting so many customers.
Does anyone have a copy of the advertisement of the JUNE 2025 promation?
