At the end of last year I received a promo text that said "upgrade and get the galaxy S24+ on us or $1000 off the fold". I went to a location and told her I wanted to use that promotion to upgrade my phone. At the time she also said I could get a watch added for $100 extra. When she was changing my plan she encountered some problems and it took a couple hours to upgrade my phone. After rushing me through the contract and not letting me take time to read it, I believe she had made either an intentional or unintentional mistake when processing the new deal. I was supposed to get the phone free, but instead I was charged for the phone and it had a small discount every month off it. This was the same for the watch. After the first bill with these charges, I went back to the store and asked if she had given me the wrong promotion. She told me the charges were temporary and they would be credited back but this never happened. I went in again and I was helped by someone else and he told me he couldn't find the original promotions.
Now, I just got off the phone with customer service after learning this is not an isolated issue and other people have requested promotion corrections. The customer service told me the only promotion was for $1000 off the phone or $500 off for me since I did not have an upgraded plan. Which was never explained to me when I was at the store. The customer service told me I would have to upgrade my plan now for $10 more a month to get the $1000 promotion but advised me not to change anything because even though I would be getting $500 off the total cost of the phone, my bill would go up because of fees.
I dont know what to do from here. I only upgraded my phone because of the deal that I would get the upgrade for free but instead I have been tricked into paying $800 for a phone and about $200 for a watch. And they're saying theres nothing I can do.
