I bought a new iPhone 16 and joined as new customer. I did this online. After a couple of hours with my order still showing as processing , i cashed to check on it. The automated system told me my order was in the process of canceling and said I would be connected to a representative But, all three timesi tried this I got a recording that said that there was a problem and i couldn’t be connected to a rep. So, i I went into a store. First, i didn’t realize this was a third party store as it said Verizon on the windows, door etc and only sold Verizon phones. The representative was able to figure out there was some kind of hold on my order and get it lifted. At that point, everything appeared to start progressing. However, when he called customer service back to see what was taking so long (I had now been in the store for almost two hours) he was told my payment failed - even though the charge appeared on my credit card. So, they emailed me a link to make another payment. The link didn’t work. At this point it was ten minutes before the store closed So, I told the rep I would come back in the morning
I left with no phone or service after almost four hours and having made payment
During all of this, i created a my Verizon account and attempted to link my services to it via the order number and location number. But, i received an error stating this account type isn’t supported and to contact Verizon Business. This is a personal account I was setting up this phone for.
today, i went into the store and the rep says your phones ready to pick up. Woohoo! Wrong. It gets even more ridiculous. When the rep tries to help me activate the phone, when it comes to the prompt asking for my pin or last four of my social - I get an error (I tried several times, entering both my social/pin) and got a message every time saying my identity could not be verified.
the phone number I had selected when I ordered the phone and service online is connected to another name and their deactivated account. So the rep asked them to issue a different phone number. The activation people on the phone did so, twice. But the phone itself never reset and connected to either of those new numbers.
after almost three hours, I had to leave and go to work. So I took the phone (still not activated) and left. When I got to work I got a tech support rep b on the phone who eventually told me I need to V return the phone, cancel my order and start over. My response? Are you kidding me? What’s to say this isn’t going to happen again?
If I have to return this phone, cancel the order and start over I’m going to do all of that EXCEPT start over. I’ll go to another carrier before I start totally over. I thought Verizon was supposed to be the best carrier but my experience is ridiculous and says otherwise
