4G LTE Network Extender

I'm using the Network Extender on Frontier fiber optic cable service. Up until yesterday, I was getting excellent coverage in our house and around our property. Now I'm getting weaker signals. The only change I've seen is the Band has changed from 66 to 4. Is there a way to change it back?

Yes, if your phone is not automatically connecting or staying connected to the extender regardless of turning on/off airplane mode and preferring the cell tower band, the extender's band configuration can be changed by the network team as long as frontline support is willing to raise a NRB ticket. The agent might be unfamiliar with this process and go through the troubleshooting flow but eventually they should submit the ticket. After the ticket is worked and successful the provisioning server will send down the config change to the extender and reboot and logged this in the admin GUI logs.

Thank you for reaching out about your network extender. Have you noticed any changes with your internet coverage as well? Has the extender been powered down at all? Is this on multiple devices?

Hello Melissa, thanks for replying.

I live in a rural area north of Franklin, North Carolina we are surrounded by mountains with no clear view of the nearest tower. The Network Extender was offered for free. We’ve have no issues with our Internet in fact Frontier fiber was available to us for the first time, satellite internet was our only option. We of course use Wifi calling so I have do have phone service. Before the extender changed bands, we had better coverage outside our home than we did Wifi. I guess I can live with the decrease in coverage area but I don’t understand why it changed bands and why that would limit coverage considering the extender itself acts like its own cell tower. I was hoping there was a user option to change it. Yes I did restart it several times.
