No Network - Phoenix area

Why is the Phoenix, AZ greater area have zero network service today...specifically Gold Canyon, AZ. My phone has gone down since 10am today and verizon support has been totally lacking.

I have been a loyal customer for a decade and am considering leaving for another provider.
