Trading in GPS-only Apple Watch does not work online

I am trying to purchase a new Apple Watch with cellular capabilities. I have a GPS-only Apple Watch Series 8. Verizon is requiring a 15 digit IMEI in order to proceed with the trade in.

The internet tells me I should be able to enter my MAC or WiFi address without the colons and that should work. It does not because the MAC address is less than 15 characters and contains alpha characters. The field does not allow alpha character entry and the field must be 15 digits long. Frustrating!

From what I could find elsewhere, only the GPS + cellular versions of Apple Watches have an IMEI. The GPS only versions will have a serial number instead, and if Verizon's trade-in software only wants an IMEI, a serial number, MAC, or WiFi address will not work. If talking to a Verizon rep doesn't get you a workaround for this issue, then my guess is your watch doesn't meet the trade-in requirements.

15 digits from the SEID worked for me.
Watch app > About > SEID (click)

There’s a long string of alphanumeric characters, mine looked like this 010101C56F-B12345678901234…. Start with the first number after the hyphen and stop at 15 digits.

It does not work and your in store reps were not helpful as they kept trying to ask for an IMEI. Your check out is broken. Also spoke with Verizon agents online and they were completely useless. Not sure how to make this purchase. Very frustrating.
