For the last few months when I get a VM it a) comes in 20-24 hours after the person calls and b) comes as an attachment that then can't load. Essentially VM doesn't work. Anyone else?
Hi Trish. Here is a possible workaround you can try until this voicemail issue is resolved. If you were not aware check out the new Phone app feature called Take a Message. It's kind of like Assistant (or Gemini) taking a voicemail for you before your traditional voicemail service kicks in. I am using Take A Message and like it better than old fashioned voicemail. See if it is available for you by opening the Phone app > hamburger menu > Settings > Take a Message > turn it On if you want.

Hello. If you ever speak to Verizon about voicemail and you tell them you have a Pixel phone they might tell you that a Pixel phone does not support voicemail. That is 100% incorrect. I also use Verizon and their voicemail can be confusing at times on a Pixel phone. The Phone app has a Voicemail tab in the lower right, that is an access point to see or hear your voicemail messages, once the service is activated. Verizon offers two voicemail services: their "Basic VVM" service (which is free) and the Premium Plan (which costs money each month on your bill). Either of these is setup on their website, or the Verizon app, or by speaking with customer service. I think Verizon expects us all to have Basic VVM (at a minimum) and that is needed to "see" voicemail messages in the Phone app. You won't get true visual voicemail with the basic plan, it will still be audio you have to listen to, but you should see visual notifications that you have messages. I pay the $2.99 a month for Premium VVM and that gives true visual voicemail with scrolling text in the Phone app. So if you want true visual voicemail with scrolling text when using a phone with the Google Phone app (on Verizon) you have to pay for premium. Or just stick to basic VVM and you can listen to your messages.
Once you have confirmed with Verizon that all voicemail settings and service are active on all accounts (call Verizon customer support and make sure voicemail is active on all lines first), try clearing the cache for the Phone app. Open Settings > Apps > See {number} apps > Phone app > Storage & Cache > clear cache > restart your phone.
If you have a Pixel phone and want faster answers to questions or issues you should visit the Google Pixel help forum. https://support.google.com/pixelphone/threads?hl=en&sjid=9079951989941389854-NA
There are many more users on the Pixel help forum than there are here on the Verizon forum. You will be lucky if you ever receive a response here on the Verizon forums.
Let's get your voicemail up and running. How are you checking your voicemail, is this through the app or when you call? Have you made any changes or updates to your device?

Thanks. I've had this phone for at least 1-2 years and the issue just came up the last few months. I don't want to pay for cm as I don't get that many calls to make it worthwhile, but would like to listen to my VM in a timely manner. I will reach out to Google as well. Thank you!
Hi- I'm checking thruy phone. The phone icon and then voicemail in lower right. Once I click it pops up with the # and that I have a voicemail. Says to click attachment and when I click it says couldn't load. I'm on home wifi my husband and I both work from home so it's fast enough). It's frustrating.
TrishM3, thanks so much for this info and my apologies for any confusion. Just to confirm, are you dialing *86 to check the voicemail or using the app on the phone? Also, is it visual voicemail, meaning you can also read the voicemails on the screen or simply hear the person's voice? Any third party application for voicemail now or ever? Any and all details are greatly appreciated so that we can resolve this for you.
