After updating my Motorola Edge Plus 2022 (5G UW) on Verizon to Android 14 build U1SHS34.1-177-7-3, Bluetooth-Low-Energy devices that use a secure 6-digit pairing code (e.g., Accu-Chek Guide glucose meter) no longer connect.
The meter appears in Bluetooth settings and shows the code, but the app immediately gives a “Connection error.” The same device pairs fine on Android 13 phones and iPhones, so the issue appears specific to Motorola’s Android 14 BLE stack.
Motorola fixed this bug in firmware U1QBS34.147-17-11-3, which includes the updated Bluetooth stack, but Verizon Edge Plus units are still on the older SHS34 branch.
Could Verizon confirm when the newer build or equivalent Bluetooth patch will roll out to Edge Plus 2022 (5G UW) devices? This affects medical devices that rely on BLE pairing for essential health data.
Thanks for any update or ETA on the release of the QBS34.147-17-11-3 patch.
