I am unable to link the Fios Skill in Alexa. It was working a few weeks ago, but not anymore. Now I get “Unable to link the skill at this time.” Please help. Thank you.
I have suffered for over 8 hours, over a few days trying to link the Verizon Fios skill on the Alexa app. Stayed on the phone with both parties for hours, with no luck. This is a mandatory skill, because my sister is disabled and cannot use her hands to press the "microphone button" on the remote, in order to say voice commands to change the TV.
I try to enable the Fios skill on the Alexa app. I press "Enable To Use" on the Alexa app , and it directs me to the Verizon website to sign in. I successfully sign in and for a brief second it says, "Account Linking in Progress...", but then it immediately cuts to a different screen that says, "Unable to link the skill at this time." This happens every time without fail, after I delete, and re-install the Alexa app, after I re-boot my cable box, after I spend hours with Alexa Support and hours with Verizon Fios support.
No solution.
Please... somebody.. help

This Alexa/Fios cable box integration has been working for a longgggg time and noticed after coming back from vacation after a week that this is suddently no longer working.
I am in IT and did all the troubleshooting steps with the skill, Fios, Alexa, etc. to no avail and finally resolved to disabling the Fios skill in Alexa but like another similar post which for some reason was closed I cannot link the Fios skill to Alexa. I get the Fios login screen and then once enter login info it successfully logs in but then when trying to link it comes back and says "Unable to link the skill at this time" and below it says "Please try again later". Please apprise as to whether this is issue reporting by others as well is being worked on as this skill is critical in our household.

Alexa fios skill unable to link. It was linked but I disabled skill I thought to fix a problem. Now I can’t enable. Please help. I saw others have Issue.
Someone at Verizon technical support has to look into this problem that many have recently reported. The Fios Alexa skill linking is not working. Based on Verizon support recommendations when the skill stopped working as couldn't change channels over the past 2 weeks so disabled the skill but relinking doesn't work either.

Fios Skill not able to link to Alexa. Since the end of September 2025 the link no longer connects. The exact wording is unable to link this account at this time.
Please fix this skill as my sister is handicapped and relies on this skill for voice control to change the channels

While it was never a great app, it was working fine until a few weeks ago, possibly when Amazon introduced Alexa+ (which I have not upgraded to). Something broke this skill, and it needs to be fixed, as it was quite valuable! I notice that most other questions/posts in this forum about this issue have been locked…which makes no sense unless you do not plan to fix it. It’s my understanding that skills which need to be fixed/upgraded fall on the developer. Are there plans to fix this skill (it shouldn’t be that difficult)?

Hi. asked this question 2 weeks ago and someone never replied to what I asked. My sister is handicapped and the Fios skill for Alexa has not been working for over a month. She cannot use her hands so she relied on this skill for years and it just crapped out The technician asked what set top box I had and I replied with an Arris set top box and never heard from anyone since.
This may not be an important feature for some but for someone that has no use of using their arms this skill is important. All it keeps saying is cannot be linked at this time.
Please come up with a fix
First you need to power down the entire system for at least 3 minutes. Remove the power cords, not just turn them off, including the router. Plug the router back in, when stable plug the VMS box back in then any minis you have. when everything is stable try again linking the system to Alexa. Also I'd wipe the Alexa app and re-install it before trying to link it. I have found that Amazon routinely drops compatibility with devices without warning, so this may be the case even though they say otherwise. Also do you have any Google devices that can be used instead of the Alexa devices?
