I recently traded in my old phones for the new iphone17. The agreement was to keep my old plan and receive $1100 per phone for the trade in. I completed the transaction and checked with a Verizon representative that this full credit would be honored. I was assured this was correct during a recorded call before sending my phones back.
Once the phones were received, the discount was changed to $600 per phone due to my account level. I am not sure why, as I ordered this in the store with the help of a representative and had assurances of another representative on the phone.
Now that my phones have been returned to Verizon, I am not sure what I can do other than explore other carrier options. Being denied $1000 on a trade in due to a Verizon mistake is a big deal.
Beware the trade in deals, they are clearly not what they seem.
