Poor service at home

I have a 5G phone but I'm not in the coverage map. My service is intermittent at best. They gave me Verizon Home backup internet which works works wonderfully and I'm confused why that works and my cell doesn't. Also, why am I able to get backup internet and not full time internet?!? It's ridiculous and I'm about to drop my contract because it's useless.

Hi, from what the website describes about the Verizon WiFi backup internet service, it can't be used all the time, as it is a fallback for when your primary internet service is out. Chances are, it is using 4G LTE to provide data connection and you can use it for up to 7 days in a month. If your neighborhood does not have any 5G per the coverage map, then your phone will only be using 4G LTE. Depending on what make/model phone you have, it may be possible to switch the network band setting to use LTE only, so the phone isn't constantly hunting for 5G signal.

If you want full-time internet service via Verizon, you'd have to sign up for 4G Home Internet service (if it's available - check the website for availability).
