Hello. I'm interested in purchasing one of those rugged phones. Particularly the Doogee V40 Pro. Now, I'm already aware of the network compatibility mess I'm getting into, but I've done my homework... More than any sane person would. I didn't find the bands on the Doogee website, but did send them an email at the time of this inquiry, and I'll update this when it comes in. However, according to Kimovil (a popular & detailed network compatibility site) the supported 5G bands are n2 (1900 PCS), n5 (850), n66 (1700), n77 (3700), n260 (mmWave 39 GHz), and n261 (mmWave 28 GHz). And 4G bands of B2 (1900), B4 (1700/2100 AWS 1), B5 (850), B13 (700), B48 (TDD 3600), and B66 (1700/2100).
Now, according to Kimovil & Verizon, Verizon supports 1 of those 5G bands on the phone; n77 (3700), and 4 of the 4G bands; B2, B4, B5, and B66. The reason I still am looking for answers about what bands Verizon uses is simply because I can't find authentic reliable references to what 4G bands Verizon uses. There's a lot of talk on forums like Reddit that approach or somewhat give some details on it, but no one seems to answer the question whole thorough facts & based on real information. So far I did find a place in a draw down tab on Verizon's website with the supported 5G bands. There's 1 5G band that matches, n77. That band is a middle band that is designed for a balanced speed & range ratio, but the other bands n260 & n261 are more tuned for speed in more dense areas, 2 bands which the phone (according to Kimovil) doesn't support, which is fine with me. But I could not find any links or verified information from Verizon or it's representatives what 4G bands they support. I did download an app that gets into the technical information about my network on my phone that is currently with Visible/Verizon, and where i am now it does say I'm connected to the 4G B5 band, and I saw that the app also identified other neighboring networks on the B4, and B2 bands, 4G or 5G I'm not sure. But it seems to me things are lining up okay so far.
Yes, I know Verizon will say my phone is not compatible with the Doogee phone, a thousand times, i KNOW. I have done this before, and it was worth doing. One day i simply just transferred my sim over to my rugged phone Umidigi Bison Pro from a standard phone on straight talk, and it just simply kicked in and worked. I think the reason why is because sim cards are nothing but preprogrammed carrier settings with your phone number on it. I don't deny certain possible technical issues that can occur between the phone's software, and the sim card. The way they talk to each other may be slightly incompatible when the sim card was intended to work with a different phone's software. But according to Doogee, the V40 Pro is compatible with Verizon, so they say. But Verizon's website says otherwise ONLY because Verizon hasn't tested, verified, and listed the phone, that's why everyone in Verizon will refuse to activate it because the real reason they can't is because the screen on their computer just tells them what Verizon already is used to having on their network. But by switching over the sim card it bypasses that issue & as long as enough between the sim card & the phone's software is happy with each other it'll click in, that's what I theorize anyhow. However, Verizon will not be able to identify the device afterwards, but that doesn't matter, at least, it didn't matter to straight talk. Lol But yeah. So, if anyone can help me complete insane quest for answers about what 4G bands Verizon uses that'll be great! And no, please don't give me references to third party sources, unless they're made by people who know for certain maybe because they've worked for Verizon or something like that. And no don't encourage me to try something else. I'm stubborn and i like it just fine. Lol
