installed verizon call filter app and it was working for the past year. Now it shows “unable to connect to server please try again later.” What do I need to do to fix ?

Uninstall the app and reinstall it. If that still does not work, it's best to reach out to Verizon's Call Filter app team via their support email found at https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.vzw.ecid&hl=en_US under "App support." They should respond and work with you to get your issue resolved.
