Extra phone number

I recently received 5 iPhone 17 pro phones from a Verizon store . I ended up with 6 numbers. This 6th number is labeled BYOD. On my account, I have this number associated with an iPhone 12. However, I do not have a 6th phone!! Should I have been given a 6th iPhone?
