trouble registering my account
Hi, I'm guessing you're a new customer, and your account isn't letting you link your phone number? Usually the cause of that is when your service isn't active yet when you registered on My Verizon. Then, you end up with a guest account instead of a real one, and despite any messages saying otherwise, nothing can be linked to a guest account. I'd try re-registering using the link below:
If that doesn't work either, then someone at Verizon will have to delete your current account so you can start over. I heard of a case last year where someone's account wouldn't work because it was missing some information - something got left off when the customer was being signed up for service, and then the system wouldn't take their account until whatever missing piece was put into place.
Because the CSRs are unable to use the forums currently, your best bet would be to either contact Verizon via one of their social media channels if you have any social media, or use the Contact Us link at the top of the forum page.
