all my text msgs do not show in my text log. it says there are 22 but only 19 in the log. why is that?
If your texting app uses "modern" - i.e. encrypted format - for sending texts, then those texts are going over the internet and using data, so will be in the data logs. The texting logs only display the old-school SMS and MMS format texts which are unencrypted. Google Messages, iMessage, Signal, WhatsApp and probably any other texting app out there now will use encryption by default unless you manually shut it off and have your app use SMS/MMS only.
Thanks for the tidbit on how many texts the logs can display; I wasn't aware of that. People have been reporting every so often in the forums that their logs just go AWOL for whatever reason sometimes, so if your current logs are a few days behind, might be related to that glitch. As for some texts appearing in the texting logs despite using encryption in your texting app, if the other person you're texting is using only SMS/MMS on their device, then the text has to be decoded somewhere so the other person can see it, and then if they respond, it would be coming back in SMS/MMS format as well.
This is true but there is also something wrong with the database reporting system in general. I use third party messaging and sometimes it appears. Sometimes it doesn't. Logs today are 65 hours behind. This has been a problem since they messed with the reporting platform. Your also limited to 1k in messages per SIM per month even though its "unlimited"
