Help in deciding a Feature Phone

Hi, I was thinking of buyin a feature phone, and I hope someone can help me in deciding.

Here are my requirements

A good UI (preferably touchscreen - and fast)

Good IM capabilities (I'll be in GTalk most of the time - AND I WONT BE USING TEXT MESSAGING)

Social Networking capabilities (FB and Twitter)

A good typing interface (QWERTY or touchscreen doesn't matter as long as I can type quick - like I said I'll be in GTalk a lot)

A good Internet Browser

Required Apps include a good Calender with a reminder system, and Alarms

Multimedia is a plus (though, if all the above requirements are met, then I'd pick it based on Multimedia rating - features such as camera resolution, video adn audio recording, etc)

I'll be taking the $10 data plan, though I'd also like the ability to use Wifi instead (when I want to do Heavy Data Surfing)

I checked out user reviews of Kin Twom and LG Cosmos Touch, and I'm torn between the two. Which among the 2 is the best phone for my needs?

Also, if there are other feature phones as good, please recommend it.

IM = Data. If you're going to pay for Data, might as well consider getting a smartphone.

Also the Twom doesn't have IM app.

And .. LG Cosmos Touch? Have you handled one in person? The u370 is a much better built phone. Better looking too.

I heard u370 can only be bought through Costco

If that's so, can I upgrade my current phone to u370, keeping my same number?

Does it have wifi?

And, can I take a $10data plan, if I wan't to? (and if I feel the data plan is a waste after taking it, can I cancel it)

Lastly, is it worth it, given that I am planning to take a $10data plan?

The u370 was on sale at Costco last month for $30, i'm not sure if it's still there. Someone in these forums mentioned it's also on sale at best buy? If it's more than $50, i don't know if it's still worth getting. There's more options if you're willing to go to a smartphone. The plastics and shape feels much better on the u370 than the LG Cosmos Touch. The u370 is a nice phone to hold compared to everything else including smartphones. The finish is not $200 phone level, but it's not as cheap as the Cosmos. Very good keyboard. The cosmos keyboard was mushy, if you press a key, the surrounding keys would warp. U370 doesn't have wi-fi.

I agree with the previous posters who said you may want to consider a smartphone. For the things you want to do, it will be hard to make it through a month with the $10 data plan.

There's one issue with each of these phones you're considering. The Kin has Wi-Fi but no IM client, so you'd have to use IM through the Web browser. The Cosmos doesn't have Wi-Fi, so a limited data plan will quickly be used up.

I'm not one to push smartphones on everyone; I don't think everyone needs or should pay for them. However, you might want to consider going that route. For the $20 difference in costs, it sounds like you'd be happier.
