I personalized my Wi-Fi SSID. Since doing so, my set-top box will no longer connect to the automatically/default created (SSID)-TV network.
I have already tried the following troubleshooting steps:
I performed a cold reset/restore on the set-top box.
I performed a hard reset/factory restore on the Verizon router.
After restoring the router to the factory default SSID, the set-top box connects properly again.
However, once I personalize the main Wi-Fi SSID, the TV connection fails again because the set-top box will not connect to the new (personalized SSID)-TV network.
I also attempted to manually connect the set-top box using the personalized SSID, but that did not work either.
I have reviewed multiple Verizon support threads and community forum posts and have tried the suggested fixes I found, short of calling Verizon support directly. I am trying to avoid another hour-long support call if possible.
Can someone from Verizon or the community please explain the correct process for changing the main Wi-Fi SSID while ensuring the Fios TV/STB network updates correctly and reconnects? Is there a router setting, hidden TV SSID setting, or STB pairing step that needs to be completed after renaming the Wi-Fi network?
I have been using a personalized SSID for over 15 years with over 50 devices connected and I do not want to change over 50 devices. HELP
