Hello,
I recently purchased a Google Pixel 9 Pro XL that was advertised as unlocked. However, when I insert my local carrier SIM card while outside the United States, the device displays the message:
“SIM not supported. Ask Verizon if this device can be unlocked.”
I already checked the IMEI through multiple IMEI checker services, and everything appears clean:
- No blacklist
- No lost/stolen reports
- No financing/payment issues
- Reported as unlocked
Despite that, the phone still refuses non-Verizon SIM cards.
Has anyone experienced this before with Verizon Pixel devices? Is it possible the phone is still carrier locked even though the IMEI reports look clean?
Any guidance would be appreciated. Thanks.
