Transferring all information Motorola 2021 to Motorola 2025

I saw somewhere Motorola has an app that will transfer everything? I have a Motorola 2021, and am getting a Motorola 2025. The phone part on the 2021 does not work at all, everything else does. I have talked to at least 19 CSA some were supposedly going to straighten it out. They even changed the sim card and still the same. I don't want to lose my messages, names or pictures? I could have got a new one IF I changed my plan, it even went to some committee. No luck. so much for 18 years with them. Well, I am getting it Thursday. I hopefully won't have any problems, 3+ weeks without is going beyond loyalty. They said my plan is grandfathered, changing my plan doubles it. Thanks Bruce

Hi Bruce, from what you're describing about your old Motorola phone "not working", it sounds like one or more of the apps on it don't quite work properly, but the phone itself will power on, and the screen still works? If this is what's going on, then the data transfer process isn't all that hard. Not sure what happened with your previous chats with the agents as it sounds like they were thinking of completely different things.

I found this from Google, and edited the text slightly for your situation. Hope that helps. But if your old Motorola phone screen will not turn on or the phone is busted in some way such that the data process transfer outlined below won't work, then you'd have to use the new phone to access backed up data in the cloud (if you have such a backup), or else a specialized repair shop would have to try to fix whatever's wrong with your old broken phone and/or extract the memory chip(s) to retrieve the data.

Initial Setup Transfer Method

The easiest way to transfer data is during the initial setup of your new Motorola phone.

Prepare Devices: Charge both phones, turn them on, and connect them to Wi-Fi.
Start the Process: On the "Hello Moto" welcome screen, tap Start and select the option to copy data from an old device.
Connect the Phones: Connect the two phones using a USB cable.
Select Data: Choose the specific categories of data (photos, contacts, call logs, text messages) you want to move, and initiate the copy.

If you already did something with the new Motorola and got past the "Hello Moto" screen, then your options depend on whether or not you have your data backed up in the cloud. But the options are:

Factory reset the new Motorola phone to be able to access the data transfer screen again.
Access your cloud account on the new phone and then your backed up data will go to the new phone. I copied the text below for a Google Account sync, as many people have data backed up on a Google Account, but if you have some other cloud storage service, you'd need to Google the specific details for your cloud service.

Google Account Sync: Sign into the same Google account on your Motorola phone that you used on your old device to restore backed-up contacts, app data, and device settings.
Google Photos: Download the Google Photos app and log in to restore and access all your cloud-backed pictures and videos.

If the old phone isn't working, it's going to be tough to get the data off it. A repair shop would have to try to repair the board or extract the chips from the dead phone to recover anything. I'm assuming you don't have a backup in the cloud somewhere?

Hi, the phone itself does not work, I can access all the information and use it for the internet.

I am assuming if that is the way to go I access the cloud by internet? Although I haven't used it.

Phone works beautifully except the internet loggin in, I can look at my contacts, messages and pictures with no problem. I would like to transfer everything to its place?
