Android "EYE" during Gingerbread Install - be Patient !!

FYI, this issue popped up for the SOAK (test) group. We all saw it and kinda freaked some of us out. (MOTO didn't give a "progress" bar during this step, unfortunately.)

During the Gingerbread update/install, there will be a point when the DROID EYE comes up and just sits there for a long time ... like as much as 4 or 5 mins. Do NOT interrupt it! Just be patient and let it be. It will/should finish.

Mine lasted for almost 15mins, so don't get worried if it takes that long.

Wow ... mine was totally downloaded & fully installed in 20 mins ... the 'eye' only lasted about 4 mins. This was OTA.

Mine may have taken so long as I have about 200 apps installed... lol

And yes I know, I play a risky game with those installed on updates.

The number of apps installed make this screen take longer because it rebuild the data cache after update to reflect the new installation, it can take a while sometimes..

The update went much faster and without a hitch on my phone. The only lingering issues are the browser force-closing and Folder Organizer folders losing their labels when the phone is powered Off and On.

I did not do a reset beforehand. That might clean up the browser issue.

I emailed the developer of FO more than once and he basically (by not replying) is telling me to do just that.......
