Droid email issues

I have had my Droid for about 6 months due to Verizon not supporting the Iphone at my renewal time. Formerly a Blackberry user. No e-mails sent or received in NYC for two days had to reschedule appt. GPS hunt and peck to find the right app that will work at the time. Constantly killing apps to retain battery life. Latest issue no e-mails yesterday found out on Droid forum to remove battery and replace. Emails working now. Seriously. Get an Iphone. Get an Iphone. Get an Iphone.

have you been to the iphone forum?

i could've gotten an iphone when i got the droid back in dec but chose the dx, it had gone thru some growing pains.

the iphone on verizon's cdma will have some growing pains too.

I do not see what the iPhone fad is about, I had several co-workers that had one, had is the key word because after they seen my Droid X any yhe level of customixin that I did and how smooth it worked, I converted a number of them. :smileysurprised: :smileyvery-happy: :smileywink:

And as for email issues until recently I never had no issues and when I did I learned it was the email provider not my device and as for how iPhone handles emails.... It still has its issues with corporate emails but this isnt the device either, its more the games that the software developers are playing, if they restrict access and cause configuring apps to accsee their email client, this will cause users to not use that OS...

I don't get the iphone thing either.....I know it's stink easy to use, but it has no passion or versatility. It's like a Toyota Camry, it does everything well but not very exciting. I like the Droid X and the Android OS better because it's VERY customizable and easy to personalize. I was a Windows Mobile junkie for years, but in May 2010 I woke up and realized that my HTC Touch Pro 2, when the Sense overlay was turned off, wasn't much different (at all) than my HTC PPC 6700 I had a few years earlier. I reluctantly changed to a Motorola Droid at the time and haven't looked back. The Droid X is my favorite of the bunch and it's so easy to use and set up. I recommend it highly!

I'm gonna say it. I don't have anything against iphones. It's the people that use them that I don't like.

Iphones are like a signal flare going off to alert everyone that a (self edit) is in the room.

wildman and droidaz, I am not exaggerating when I say that when those that will listen and snap out of their brain-washed state of mind get an android, they never look back.

Read the forums. ALL smartphones have issues. There is no perfect smartphone.

On second thought, the list of comparisons of why android and now, maybe even Windows, has surpassed iOS is irrefutable.

I'm sure it's a good product and I don't dislike everyone that has an iphone.

Anyone that indicts an entire product line (android) because of an issue, email in the OP, shouldn't be surprised when the thread runs amuck with very proud android users that defend (not brainwashed, mind you) our devices.

I agree to that! No smartphone is flawless. I also agree with iPhone users being more on the {word filter avoidance} side of life.

At my job, there are 6 iPhone users and 4 Android users. Anytime we go to use our phones, we get some stupid comment about how we should just ask to borrow a real phone. Every single person there with an iPhone is a jerk. Is it that way everywhere? I don't think so. But it does seem to be pretty common. Most iPhone users have nothing but rude comments to make about android phones. I think the iPhone is a very good phone. It has issues just like every phone does. I am an android kind of guy. Had both types... chose the android system. Most iPhone folks won't even try an android. They feel like it would be slumming it!

To each his own. Some people like tomatoes, some people don't. You can either say "toe may toe" or "toe mah toe.". All depends on your personal like. Key word is personal. :smileyvery-happy: :smileymad:

I have to agree with MortB. Both phones are competent in different ways. I think the iphone is an easy to use smartphone with an average onscreen keyboard. I believe the Droid X has a slightly higher learning curve, but you can do so much more as far as apps and other items you can put on the screens. I like the email on Android better and it's very fast when surfing and moving about the menus. I think the iphone has a better 5 MP camera than the Droid X's 8MP camera. But, overall, I just like the DX better overall for its increased functionality. Each phone offers a great user experience, though, it just depends what you PERSONALLY like in a phone.

You do know the OP started this when they came to a Android forum and posting reference to a iPhone... But anyway I don't get what you are expecting, OP reported that you restarted device and got the issue resolved, so I am not sure what you want to hear..

I believe this issue is related to a data connection going dormant and by pulling the battery it simply refresh connection on boot, give "Restart Connection" from market may give you the say outcome.

after reading your original posting, I'm a little confused as to if the issue is still occurring. Are you able to send & receive emails from your device? If not, may I ask who is your email provider so we can investigate the issue further. Thank you in advance...
