Plantronics BackBeat 903+ microphone

I just purchased the subject headset and paired it via bluetooth with my Droid X. The headphones work great for listening to music and when a call comes in I can answer the phone and hear the person on the other end but when I speak to them they cannot hear me. Can anyone tell me if there is a setting that I need to change or something I need to do in order to get the microphone functioning on the headset? Or do I just have a defective headset?

Your best bet is to check with the manufacturer. I know this device was made for use with the Iphone, so it could be possible that it isn't fully compatible with the Android O/S.

The headphones are compatible with the Droid X according to the Plantronics web site and I have seen reviews online from people with this combination that say it works great.

Then I would look at the possibility of the headset being broken. It's been a while since I've used my plantronic BT headphones, but if I recall correctly I had issues when picking up a call while listening to music. It would default to the phones microphone instead of the headsets. You might check your BT settings on your phone and make sure they are all correct.
