Anyone have a solution to the problem of not being able to send MMS after installing this update?
I have seen a lot of complaining about this bug on the internet, but no solutions yet.
thanks
How does one back up a Droid, reset it and then reload the information? Are there simple directions? A link someone can provide?
What about uninstalling the update? Someone suggested that - but I can not seem to find that option either.
im able to send SMS and receive calls well after the update, but receive SMS only after making outbound call and inbound calls come in sporadically. Verizon support had me factory reset my phone, but the problem persists. Support said due to switching from 1x to 3g excuse and to call back in 24hrs if problem persists so they can replace device or put in repair ticket for local area coverage. Still not able to receive SMS/inbound calls even with full signal strength and steady 3g connection. Data connection works well...gmail and corporate exchange send/receive w/o a problem. In local area Santa Ana, CA
I replied with agreement, but Verizon deleted it. Here is the link:

Someone on droudforums suggested that I do a factory reset, so I backed up the phone and did it.
Worked perfectly
There was a known voice and data issue in FT. Bragg, CA that may have also affected Santa Ana, CA., but it has been addressed. If you are still having issues not being able to receive SMS/inbound calls, please contact us for further troubleshooting.
Thanks
I recevied a notification that a system update was available. I told it to install now, it rebooted my phone, but on startup, nothing speical happened, and I'm still on 2.2.1. Checking for updates, it says my system is up to date.
I've got a problem for you guys to solve. I just got the 2.2.2 update. Shortly after, any time I slid out my keyboard, the screen would freeze. I could get out of it by sliding the keyboard back and locking/unlocking the phone. A few hours later (when I slid out the keyboard out of habit) the screen completely cuts out with only the backlight working. My phone was able to come back once, but its now done it a second time and it doesn't seem to be coming back. I can't even do a hard reset because I can't see anything. So two issues: 1) Getting the screen to come back. 2) Being able to use my keyboard again. Thanks!
Since the 2.2.2 update, an app that sends a MMS with image attached, and an app that finds GPS coordinates no longer work. Did Moto do any QA on this release at all? This is on a Droid.
Hello Jet17. If you would like to reset your phone to the factory settings you will need to re-download any applications currently on the phone. Plus you will need to restore your Google account. Additionally, you can use Backup Assistant to restore your contacts. Any data saved on the SD Card will not be effected. Below I have provided the instructions for completing a factory reset:
1. From the main screen, touch menu tab
2. Touch Settings3. Touch Privacy4. Touch Factory Data reset5. Touch Reset Phone
