Stop VZ Navigator ad Messages

EVERY morning just before 5 or 6 o'clock, a voice message comes through on my Cosmos Touch asking me to activate VZ Navigator. I just got the phone last week. I do not want to use this app, yet the only option the ad offers is "Get". How do I stop this stupid thing from waking me up every morning w/o paying to use the service? Someone please help!

Hi.

You can try to remove the application from your device by following the steps below.

Select Menu
Select Media Center
Select Browse & Download
Highlight VZ Navigator, (do not select, just highlight)
Select Options, (lower right hand corner, right soft key)
Select Cancel or Remove
Confirm Yes

This will remove the application and further prompts to download.

I also have a new Touch and have tried following your instructions to get rid of the Navigator app. I got as far as Browse and Download but VZ Navigator wasn't one of the options listed. What now.

Try going to Extras instead of Browse & Download to locate the VZNavigator option. Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Isn't VZ Navigator a service you have to pay for? It always was when I had it. It sounds like you're paying for it, but haven't activated it yet, and that is why you're getting the messages. Try calling CS and having them take this option off.

i am trying to follow these instructions but i can not simply highlight vz navigator. If i touch it at all it opens to have me download it..

Please try the steps below to remove this message from coming up on your device.

• Go to VZNavigator
• Select ‘Menu - Options - Verizon Msgs
• Choose (Off) and (Save)
• Repeat the same procedure for Menu -Options - Bonus Msgs

I have the talking messages on my Cosmos touch at 2:11 a.m. When I try to follow the steps you outlined I can't get past the second one. I can get to VZ Navigator, but then the only option I have is "Get". There is no menu option. How do I get to the menu option. I know this has been discussed before and I have tried many times, but as a previous poster said I can't highlight VZ Navigator . All it does is open and want me to download it. I have suspended Daily Scoop, blocked most data, and updated the software. Please help! I am losing sleep. Turning off the phone is not an option for me.
