droid x and gmail not working

droid x for the last week has not been syncing gmail without going to it manually is there a problem with gmail

have not changed any settings on the phone nor in Google

I've seen some people have this issue from time to time with the various email apps. Try going into SETTINS / APPLICATIONS and scroll down to your email app (GMAIL ?) and clock on CLEAR CACHE / DATA ... If that doesn't work, try uninstalling and redownloading your email APP.

There is not a problem with GMAIL, I have been getting mine just fine.

I really wonder if it has to do with an "update" that is listed in App Brain App Market and not in the Android Market. I had that problem, then I did the factory reset and updated everything that said it needed updating and had the same problem. I did everything again a few weeks later (the factory reset) but this time avoided that update and not had the problem.
