How do I remove primary gmail account w/o factory reset?

I have another gmail account the one primary has no account associated with it. I want to delete it and replace with another gmail account. Can I do this w/o losing my apps and data?

That button only appears for "extra" gmail accounts, the primary gmail account, which is what paid apps are saved to, can ONLY be changed via factory reset.

I'm fairly positive that you have to do a factory reset in order to remove the primary gmail account from the phone. You could back up all the data on the phone to a computer if you didnt want to have to download it all again.

From your home screen go into "settings".

Go to "Accounts & Sync"

Go to "Google"

You should have a button to "Remove Account"
