I was wondering if anyone else was having a problem with the X2 freezing after charging it at night?
i had the same problem with my X2 which made me just overall Return the phone & just keep my X. I went through x2 Droid X2's and it was getting old fast. Both of them got really HOT to the point where it would restart itself. The camera's in both barely worked right & I experienced constant freezing. Both phones were Brand new not certified refurbs or anything. I can honestly say I have never experienced the issues with my X2 Droids X's that I had the my X2's.
Hi havokstar,
I would like to help you with this concern. Can you give me more details on this freezing? Do you notice if there are any applications running at the time the device freezes? If so, what apps? What do you do to get the device un-frozen? How long has this been happening?
@ FP4L I'm a little confused Did you have a Droid X Then got 1 or 2 Droid X 2 's or is this your first time with the Droid X 2 an your having issues with Please clarify as i'm not sure wich is wich
I had the Droid X and had to get a replacement phone, and received Droid X2 due to no more X.. Well mind is also constantly freezing, and it just so frustrating... Call Asurion, and they are sending me another Droid X2 today... I just hope this model is not a faulty phone, I am seeing too many same issues on this phone...
I had called the 800 number for assistance as I woke up late twice on work days, luckily I was able to manage getting presentable quickly, but it was rather irritating. My rep had gone online and had seen that there were others that had been reporting the same issue after I had mentioned to him that I had found forums that had posts similar to this one. He called Motorola and they had told him they were aware, but hadn't officially listed it as an "issue". They did mention and my rep had echoed was that with new devices, there will likely be a software patch within the first few months of the release of the phone.
Basically the phone doesn't like to be on the charger for more than approx. 6 hours. What I have been doing since the phone charges very quickly with the provided charger, is I will put it on there an hour or so before I go to bed and then when I am ready to go to sleep, I pull the phone off of the charger. Using the "Nighttime Battery Saver" mode, the phone holds the charge very well (from a full charge down to maybe 80 or 90%). I have had no problems since.
I just got my Droid X2 17 days ago, and wouldn't you know it, that is when it starts freezing up. It reboots a couple of times a day, but completely freezes when I try to use the camera. Not every time, but it seems every time I need it to work. Then it just shuts off. NE help?
Hi andyrod,
I know how important it is to have use of your camera without the device freezing up. I would like to ask you to clear the data in your camera application. These are steps for the stock camera, so if you have downloaded a different camera application, please clear the data on that application. The only difference would be to select the camera application in step 5 below.
1. Press Menu
2. Press Settings
3. Press Applications
4. Select All at the top of the display
5. Scroll down to "Camera" and press it
6. Press Clear Data
7. Press OK to confirm.
Please let us know your results by posting back.
Thanks!
