I actually use two. "Memo widget" allows me to put things on the home screen without taking up a lot of space. You can set it with a transparent background so it looks like only text on the screen. I also use "Note everything". That I use for longer notes and lists.

InkPad Notepad by Workpail is also very good. It includes sharing option to email, text, etc. a copy of the notes.

The Sticky Note widget is very useful. It is in the Motorola widget list when hard-pressing on display.

The Motorola Sticky Note widget is good if you just want to stick a short note on your home screen. For more extensive notes or lists of things, I like AK Notepad.

I just started playing with Evernote and I'm liking it. Mainly, the ability to sync notes between my phone and my computers. I'm sure there are other apps that can do this ss well
