droid2 wont connect to network

OK, new to forum and sorry if this has been solved by other threads, but I couldnt find much on it.

I have a Droid 2, and have had for about 6months, recently upgraded from wireless G router to a NetGear wireless N. My droid 2 connects to it, then falls off searches finds IP connects, searches finds IP connects...well you get the picture this cycles over and over again and never will stay connected. I just realized too the 3G icon doesn't stay on either.

My buddy has the exact same router and my droid 2 connects to his just fine.

any help is much appreciated (phone worked fine till i switched routers, but keep innmind it works fine on my buddys NetGear)

Have you tried to connect your buddies phone to your router?

Do you have a password, have you tried without one?

my buddy doesnt have a droid anymore, and yes i have set the router up with and without passwords and get the same results

Sounds like a setting with your router. Don't know much about them though, so not much help on that end from me.

What settings do you have the wireless signal being broadcast as from the router?

Make sure 802.11n & 802.11g & 802.11b or at least 802.11n & 802.11g are set up

Even though N is backward compliable you still need to make sure the signal it is sending is the correct signal

Have you tried to go outside and see if you can connect to it, could be too much raidio interference (not as likely)

Maybe change the security from wpa2 to wpa and back to wpa2. turn off wifi on droid power droid off, restart router, turn on droid

If none of that works try to contact your router manufacturer

Thanks for your feedback. Besides checking directly with the manufacturer of your router, perhaps you can try to see if your Wifi connection on your device to the router is turned on. Touch the Menu, then Settings, then Wireless & networks then Wi-Fi, turn on the Wifi.

Also try the Wi-Fi search & connect function on your device to find networks in your range. ( Tip: to see your phone's MAC address or other Wi-Fi details, touch Menu, then advanced, touch connect to network connection) This might be needed to have entered on your router's settings via the software that came with your router or downloaded from the manufacturer's website.

If necessary, enter Network SSID, Security, and Wireless password, and touch Connect. When your phone is connected to the network, the wireless indicator should appear in the status bar. Tip: When you are in range and Wi-Fi is on, you will automatically reconnect to available networks.
