Can you hear us now?

We want Windows Phone 7 on the Verizon network and would like you to release these devices very soon too. I understand you have lots of love for Droid and the iPhone and those devices are very nice. Just the same, they don't speak to most of us here and we want... well, what we want in the end and that is WP7, please.

I love my Zune and being on Xbox Live, so Windows Phone 7 is the perfect device for me as an end user. Not to mention I'm looking at building Apps and work in .Net already. Sorry if you had bad luck with the KiN, pretty cool device in general, but its not WP7 and not what most of us wanted. Should have waited to roll those out to well after WP7 had launched in my opinion.

Make us happy, release WP7 next month.

I'm with you... On what we want, as well as working in .NET and wanting to dev for the platform. Some like android, some like iphone, and some want WP7. Give your customers what they want!

Zune music subscription rocks! I can get pretty much any song for my Zune HD.

The wireless syncing with my computer is also a huge benifit that other OSes don't have. I just leave my computer up and it get's new podcasts, etc. and when my Zune HD is charging, it gets fresh content for the next day.

In my fantasy wish land with the unicorns - Verizon is waiting to do a really HUGE realease of WP7 with like 6 devices, all of which are LTE 4G. Also, their advertizing and marketing of WP7 will make the Droid campaigns look weak and simplistic.

I'm sure that's why it's taking Verizon sooooo long. They want to do it up right. :smileytongue:

Wish List: Windows Phone 7.5 with LTE on a HTC phone with a great slide out keyboard, and a rich 4.0" diagonal tilting screen. (similar to the HTC Touch Pro 2) Please don't fill the phones memory with extra Verizon software. Let us pick and choose what we want and need. Come on Verizon, be a leader.

Once VZW gets the WP7 I will jump carries! Please add WP7 so I can use VZW.

I would prefer the first phone to be Nokia, but I know that's not coming until closer to 2012.

I want to add my voice to the list of people looking for the phone on the network. It would be nice to see it before every other carrier has their next generation stuff ready to go. I got bitten on the Verizon network with the Touch Pro already. How about getting out a device. Since the Trophy has been (sort of officially) announced, release it already. I would love to see the Windows Phone 7 Pro, but I will take what I can get. I have even seriously considered going to a carrier that can actually deliver the goods.

I hope this new discussion group means that someone is actually taking notice at Verizon.

Release the phone stoo this game, we know what we want and it is a WP7 otherwise, as soon as I can I am taking my business to where I am welcome with a WP. That Simple. Now I am hearing another date....May 12, it is getting boring and annoying big Red.

Very refreshing to hear folks that are educated about what they want in a device and don't want it because it is trendy, comes in white, or lets them scan their latte at the register at Starbucks. (No particular group in mind, of course).

It is also refreshing to see that there is an Android user who doesn't troll us and try to convince us to go google. I thank you for respecting our opinions, and not trying to convert us. My hat's off to you.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think you will find that Android users have an attitude, or will try and convince you to switch phones.

The Android vs iphone "thing" is a different situation. The iphone was first out of the gate. It became trendy and popular among teenaged girls who listen to Britney Spears and soccer moms, among others.

Google came along with Android that took the basic smartphone principles and expounded on them and came up with what we Android users thought was a better system.

Combine that with the variety and open-ness of Android phones and BOOM Android quickly grabbed 50% of the smartphone market, with the iphone falling to 25% and Windows quickly biting at their heels.

As more people become educated and understand the differences and the choices (as you expressed in your post) the numbers of folks using Android and Windows phones continue to increase.

I am impressed with the Windows phone and would entertain the thought of owning one.

It's really going off on a tangent, but "who stole what ideas from who" between Microsoft and Apple goes back decades.

And before anyone claims Google and Microsoft ripped off the iphone, remember it's all one large technological incestuous conniving lawsuit happy cesspool.

I'm sick of waiting myself. HTC Trophy or HTC HD7s (the awsome HD7 phone with a 4.3" Super LCD coming to AT&T), what ever hits first. Over 11 years with Verizon and really thinking about trying GSM because of Verizon never giving customers what they want, Verizon only gives them what they think they want.

I'm a business user and have an Exchange server. Windows Phone is the only reliable way to sync all of your data to an Exchange server, and I am sick of using my old Imagio. Not that the Imagio is a horrible phone or anything, but it's falling apart after 2 years.

I have seriously considered dropping Verizion because of the lack of a Windows 7 Phone, and if Sprint had a device without a keyboard I would have been gone already. AT&T coverage is horrible in the mountains, so that's out too.

I feel kind of like Cartman in this past week's episode of South Park. "Can we at least pull over here and get some dinner? Because I at least like to be wined and dined before I get..."

Sadly, I have had MANY Android (as well as iPhone) users get downright nasty with me because of my choice. IMHO, each phone is different, each person is different, and there is a phone for every person, and those phones don't need to be the same. The thing is that most, if not all, of these people who are bashing those of us who choose WP7, know almost nothing about it. They're just wanting everyone to have what they have, so they can have the "best" phone, I believe. Yes, Android is most popular, but what they aren't looking at is that projections state that by 2015, WP will be number 2. Myself, I defend WP7, and point out its positives, because I want to see it succeed (because if it doesn't, I can't have what I want). The sad thing is that there are people who think that if someone doesn't want the same thing they have, they think that someone is somehow lesser than them.

I LOVE that last statement. But I don't think anyone can say Windows ripped iPhone, because MS had a phone years before Apple. Frankly, though, I don't care who stole what idea from whom. I just want Verizon to get their heads out and give us WP7.

My company recently switched from iphone to Windows phones for company uses due to the obvious compatibilities with our networks.

Fortunately, I was able to avoid the previous mandate and use my Android, but the change to Windows is interesting and makes me eager to have one.

I won't challenge your statement that Android users belittle Windows users, much like iphone users no doubt do, also.

Admittedly, I know little about Windows phones, other than my respect for Microsoft and the fact that I would never own anything Apple.

What I have noticed though is (as I mentioned) how tech-savvy those in the Windows camp are. You folks know your phones and know what you want, much like Android users (even the jerkish ones).

One of the reasons that there are so many WP7 people who know what they want is that Microsoft has been "selling" it to us in the development community for more than a year now. I saw a prototype device first hand (though I wish it was in MY hand) last year in March. I have developed on the .NET platform in the past, on mobile devices used in manufacturing, and now that I'm unemployed I'm working on brushing up my skills and plan to develop for WP7. I've taken online classes, attended in-person as well as web seminars on the platform, and just picked up a book for when I finish the one I'm in now, which is working toward Microsoft certification.

Yes, I do believe that there are many Android users who are tech-savvy (though I think there are also a lot who buy it because it's the lastest thing, too), and like the ways that they can "tweak" the phone. This is something we've been doing in the Windows Mobile community for years. The WP7 devices aren't as customizable as the predecessor, WM, unless you are a developer, and even then not to the extent that we used to be able to do. However, there is MUCH that this phone can do. I loved the week that I had my Sprint Arrive, just wish my calls hadn't dropped so much. Anyway, the Android community has more in common with the Windows Mobile community than many of them are probably willing to admit. :smileywink:

As far as iPhone, my personal opinion is that the vast majority are sheep, would buy property on Venus if Jobs was selling parcels (I've known PLENTY of people who always have to have the latest Apple mobile device, just because it's out), and many are condescending to anyone who wants something different than them.

I, for one, appreciate your comments.

Those of us savvy Android users (the ones who buy them as smartphones, not trendy toys) are on your side, WP7 guys.

Both of us just want what we like. I hope you guys get some good devices soon. Believe it or not, I even hope the iPhone people get their new toys soon. I don't want any platform to dominate, we'd just wind up with a repeat of PCs (where someone like me is stuck with a Windows PC instead of using Linux like I'd prefer because that's where the software is). In an ideal world, you'd pick the platform you prefer and the software would work on it all. Having a REAL 3-way OS battle on the phones will help make that happen, in as much of a degree as we can, at least.

Verizon, as a business leader in wireless, I believe you put all your financial eggs in one basket, the Droid.

I believe you counted on and still rely on the Droid as keeping you the number one Wireless network. While the Droid did set records sales for a time, those sales are waining. You as a consumer service industry need to service ALL of your customers and not a select few. Granted, there are enough gamers and social butterflys to keep the Droid in business, as the new Thunderbolt will attest to, but you need to revert back to your old motto of serving the community as a whole, and taking care of your loyal customers as well as the new generation.

I have been with Verizon since the inception of the bag phone, as a loyal customer, many times I have felt slighted and ignored. To fill the gaps you have left, at one time I had 3 wireless services and 3 different phones to accomodate those lapses.

As a business client, or individual client, we have been promised the Windows Service for a few years now, and we are left waiting as all of the other providers are reaping the rewards of your switching tracks. The new Windows phone is promising the ability to use 3 communication networks although we have not seen it; howeve we do see the companies passing the blame to each other which is unprofessional, as well as, inappropriate.

As college students, students in general, business community and a social community; we need Windows 7, with additional aps. We need to access our Office programs, Outlook, Word, Excel, all email providers, social networks, and other business related applications. We need a real qwerty board, as the display panel cannot handle the daily usage a business and social client accesses. We need alerts to pertinent information on 'the fly', (immediate access and alerts) nationally and globally. Also, please do not forget that we need the ability to sync our phones to our laptops and other devices, and the ability to pass information, files, etc to and fro. The memory and processors should be the largest available (without extra cost)!

I am another person who is anxiously awaiting this phone. My contract has been up for over a year now. If this phone is not released by the time my wife's contract is up, I am likely going to try testing the waters over at another carrier. Please release this phone.

I'll be attending a Windows Phone App Garage at Microsoft's Atlanta offices on May 19. If Verizon doesn't have a phone by then, there's a good chance I'll get one from ATT to take with me. Oh - and Verizon - I'm still under contract, and have already left once. If you come out with a phone, I'll be paying full price for it. If you don't, you'll be getting about $350 in early term fees (3 phones - family account), which is only about 2 months' subscription fees.

Unfortunately all we have to go on is rumors because Verizon still refuses to commit to any kind of delivery date. At this point they are about 2 months later than Sprint (and counting). I am starting to wonder when I see dates if they are talking 2010 or 2011? Verizon's glacial speed is starting to become legend out there. I see many comments about it.

I would be excited to see a phone on the Verizon network some time this month. I am not holding my breath or expecting anything. It really feels like they are delaying the Windows Phone stuff because it has a lower priority than any of their other smart phones. It is starting to border on ridiculous.

THAT is when Verizon's focus shifted from everything else to iphones and iphones began to matter more than anything else.

I work with some Microsoft folks. When ATT launched the initial WP7 devices, the MS guys told me they were asked by MS to hold off for a week or so before getting their WP7 devices to make sure there were enough devices for customers.

That's most likely what a Microsoft Interal date refers to.
