Problem with my droid 2: What to do?

For some reason, about 6 to ten times a day my droid 2 will just automatically shut off. I have no idea why this happens. I have taken good care of my phone, I've never dropped it or anything. I did purchase the 8 dollars a month insurance on my phone from verizon. What are my options? Thank you very much for taking your time to read. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A couple of things could be causing this. The first that comes to mind is a bad apps. You might have downloaded an apps which is causing this, especially if this started to happen after some apps downloads. The second thing that comes to mind is the switch on your Droid is bad. This would mean a complete replacement, unless, of course, they can fix it.

I have had the same problem. I received a replacement device, and the replacement is doing the same thing. I now have a 3rd replacement device on the way....UGH!! Please post if you find a solution.

I agree with the thought about possible bad apps. I installed better keyboard 2 weeks ago and have been getting random reboots since.

If the same thing is happening on two different Droid 2s, then check your apps. It really sounds as though you downloaded an apps which is causing this problem since it is highly unlikely that the two different cell phones are doing the identical same thing.

I think you may be better off dealing with a tech on the phone with Verizon. The product knowledge of in store employees is usually pretty weak, I know first hand. The tech's at Verizon seem to be a lot more aware of how to fix potential problems. Good luck.
