I have not had a dropped call in 4 years in the past 3 weeks my droid incredible started droppong calls and I also am losing my weather information .. I use the widget and 5 or 6 times a day it will say no data available any suggestions ???
Sounds like a bad signal problem, maybe call Verizon and see if they are having some sort of outage in your area. You can also call *228 and select option 2 to update your PRL which should help you connect to any new towers.
